Grammar Web Quest

 INTRODUCTION

          Very few people use “exhilarating” as an adjective to describe grammar.  One thing it does not need to be is mysterious.  Follow the steps through this Quest for a solid review or even a new learning experience with grammar.

 TASK :     Review the basic parts of speech

 PROCESS 

     Follow the simple steps outlined below.  Please take your time, read carefully, and work on one step at a time.  Points will be deducted for students asking questions that are answered in the web quest.  You may ask for help if needed in order to return to this page. 

 Part One

Click on the given links and read the definitions for nouns, pronouns, & linking verbs.

Write the definitions for each one.

Read about nouns and write down some examples of plural nouns that are listed on the webpage.

Click on action verb to read the story about Active Anna.

Select 10 action verbs from the story and write them down on your paper.

Then answer the questions regarding Active Anna.

Get to the cave of treasures and write down three nouns used in the game- game.

 Part Two

Then move on to adjectives and adverbs.  These tend to make people think a little more.

EVALUATION

     Once all the diagnostic tests are completed and turned in, they will be scored but not graded on correct answers.  This test will be used to see where the class needs a more structured, comprehensive lesson versus a quick review.  Your grade will be based solely on effort and completion of all steps.

 CONCLUSION

     Our goal is to review the nine parts of speech you should be familiar with by now.  Hopefully, after the review and quizzes, we can move on in our Quest for “grammatical superiority.”
