Dr. Jason Gilstrap joined the Floresville Family in April 2021 as Superintendent of Schools. 

Dr. Gilstrap earned a Bachelor of Science from Midwestern State University, a Master of Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Tarleton State University.

He began teaching and coaching in the central Texas area where he spent the majority of his career. Throughout his career, he has served as an assistant principal principal, and superintendent. Prior to joining Floresville ISD, Dr. Gilstrap served as Deputy Superintendent for Ennis ISD.

"I am excited and humbled to serve the students of Floresville ISD alongside the teachers, staff, families and community. We will focus on preparing students for their future, whatever it may hold," said Dr. Gilstrap. "This is an exciting time for the Floresville ISD community and our students."

Dr. Gilstrap is married and has two children.
