FISD Family,
During last night’s regular board meeting, the Floresville ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a hybrid calendar for the 2025-2026 school year.
Our board members took into account the results from the calendar survey, prioritizing a shorter school week option that would reduce the number of student days and teacher days. Due to limitations posed by our food service contract, student days could not be reduced by more than five. In February, the board approved parameters that allowed the district to develop a calendar that shortened the school week within the constraints of the food service contract.
The 2025-2026 hybrid school calendar:
Reduced the number of student days from 169 to 164
Reduced the number of teacher days from 187 to 178
Includes 18 Fridays when childcare will be offered for students in Pre-K - 5th grade
Includes 18 Fridays when meals will be provided to all students
Provides consistency with 470 daily instructional minutes across all grade levels
Floresville ISD will continue to explore options for the 2026-2027 school year.
