Floresville High School First Day of School Information: Everything You Need to Know

As we approach the first day of the new school year at Floresville High School, it's important that students, parents, and guardians are well-informed about essential procedures and guidelines. Below is a comprehensive overview to ensure a smooth start to the school year.

Pick-Up and Drop-Off Procedures

Drop Off Procedures

  • Enter the drop-off line ONLY from Standish Street (TX-97) onto 11th Street, as shown on the map.  

  • Students may be dropped off at the sidewalks starting at the Ag. Building and ending at the front of the competition gym. 

  • Once your student has exited the vehicle, proceed along the designated route in front of the elementary school and toward the traffic light on Standish Street (TX-97).

  • Students are expected to be in their 1st-period classrooms and ready to learn by the time school starts at 8:25 am. Parents should plan to have their children at school no later than 8:20 am.

  • Morning supervision begins at 8:00 am in the cafeteria/courtyard. 

Pick Up Procedures

  • Enter the Pickup line ONLY from Standish Street (TX-97) onto 11th Street, as shown on the map. 

  • Students may be picked up on the sidewalks starting at the Ag. Building and ending at the front of the competition gym. 

  • To exit campus, proceed along the designated route in front of the elementary school and towards the traffic light on Standish Street (TX-97).

  • Students are released from school at 4:30 pm. A campus administrator and school officer will be on duty to monitor students and traffic flow.

Important Safety Rules & Reminders

It is important to be safe and courteous when driving or parking near the school and to obey all traffic and parking laws. Please be aware that the FISD Police Department frequently tickets individuals for moving and parking violations on FISD property.

  • Do not park in the drop-off/pick-up line (on 11th Street) as shown on the map.

  • Do not double-park to drop off or pick up your child.

  • Do not perform U-turns in the drop-off area.

  • Students will not be allowed to congregate in the student parking lot or at the front and back of the school before the bell rings.

  • Extracurricular (athletics/band/dance/cheer) student drop-off times and locations are at the discretion of the coach/staff member.
