Floresville ISD announced the Teacher and Students of the Month for December.
Amanda Middleton, teacher at Floresville High School, has been selected Teacher of the Month. Mrs. Middleton is in her second year of teaching at FHS and is an advisor for HOSA, a health science student-led organization. She loves building relationships with her students because she believes that is what motivates them to learn in class. Mrs. Middleton also loves witnessing "aha" moments and seeing her students become proud of their accomplishments.
Tyler Mutz, a senior at FHS, is one of two Students of the Month. Tyler has attended FISD schools his entire educational career. He is part of the Tigers Football varsity team, Golf varsity team, NHS, and FFA. Tyler also competes in the Livestock Judging Team and has shown steers for 10 years under the FFA. He is also active in the community, serving as Prince on the Royal Court of Rooted Legacies for the Floresville Peanut Festival Association. After graduation, Tyler plans to attend Texas A&M University at College Station and major in Engineering.
Isabella Valdez, a senior at FHS, is the second Student of the Month to be recognized in December. Isabella has attended FISD schools since Pre-K. She is involved in a number of extracurricular activities, including serving as Vice President of Student Council, Reporter for NHS, Vice President of HOSA, Captain of the MTB Band Color Guard, Executive Social Chairman of Link Crew, Unified Champions, and Academic UIL. She has also qualified to compete at the state and national levels with TAFE, for which she served as an Area Officer. Isabella plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in Biology, continuing her pre-medical track to becoming a Cardiothoracic Surgeon.
