Beginning in the fall of 2025, Floresville High School will launch the Floresville Early College High School in partnership with St. Philip’s College.
An Early College High School (ECHS) is an innovative program that provides students with up to 60 college credit hours free of charge and substantial support to guide them into an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree. College credits earned during high school are designed to be transferred to a four-year institution.
A total of 60 eighth-grade students have been accepted into the inaugural Floresville Early College High School class of 2029. These students will begin taking college level courses as ninth graders and have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and an Associate’s degree.
Students will be taught study methods and organizational strategies to help them boost their academic skills. The program allows students to blend high school and college in a coherent, personalized, and rigorous educational experience.
Floresville Early College High School will offer face-to-face classes taught by FHS teachers and online courses taught by St. Philip’s College instructors. Students will still be able to participate in Fine Arts, Athletics, and other activities offered at FHS.
